Tom Boonen sera également parmi les favoris du Tour des Flandres et c'est lui qui remporte au sprint Gand-Wevelgem , devant un autre Léopard (Daniele Bennati) au terme des 204 km de course.

C'est déjà vieux d'une semaine mais pendant qu'une partie du peloton explorait les routes de Corse, F. Cancellara (Saxo BAnk) remportait le E3 Prijs Vlaanderen - Harelbeke samedi 27 Mars et B. Eisel (Htc-Columbia) s'imposait sur Gent-Wevelgem.

In Wevelgem, T-Mobile takes its first big win of the year with the 23 years old M. BURGHARDT first Pro Victory. His team-mate Hammond takes the second place. Both riders from the T-Mobile played well the team card in order to avoid the 3 other early escaped to have their chance. Brilliant when you have in your group such experienced rider as O.Freire or C.Mengin.
